Customer story: NTS

The Dutch Transplant Foundation (NTS) in Leiden has been coordinating the entire chain of organ and tissue donation and transplantation for 28 years. With around 120 employees, the foundation works closely with hospitals and international partners such as Eurotransplant. Its mission: to help as many patients on the waiting list as possible receive a donor organ or tissue. Every second counts, which makes reliability in communication absolutely crucial.

The challenge

Day and night, the NTS receives phone calls. From emergency transports and consultations from the organ center to registrations and ongoing procedures. For NTS, accessibility is literally a matter of life and death. Every missed call can have immediate consequences for a patient in need. The organization therefore sought a communication structure that would be reliable 24/7, include backup systems, offer flexibility to continue operations under any circumstance, and provide clear insight into actual usage.

The solution

Together with Sound of Data, NTS implemented a robust telephony infrastructure using 3CX and Microsoft Teams, ensuring employees can be reached anytime, anywhere. For the organ center, clear call flows and backup scenarios were established so that critical calls are always handled properly.

In addition, the My Sound of Data portal provides insight into telephony usage. This allows NTS to monitor and analyze how telephony is being used, contributing to process optimization and guaranteed accessibility.

“We were looking for a provider that could take full responsibility for our telephony needs within the critical 24/7 organ donation process. We’re pleased that Sound of Data has lived up to that expectation.”
